Mission: The department of otolaryngology and head neck surgery works to enhance the quality of life of patients by decreasing morbidity by early diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to head and neck.

Services Available in the department:

Outpatients department

General OPD: Disorders related to infections, tumours and cancers of ear nose throat ,Salivary glands, Thyroid gland and other head neck, Disorders of hearing , smell, speech and voice. Disorders related to allergy. Paediatric breathing and speech disorders. Managing deformities of nose, ear and face, snoring / sleep disordered breathing patients.

Procedures (Diagnostic and/or Therapeutic) offered by the department:

i). Diagnostic Endoscopies including Fibreoptic and RigidNasopharyngolarngoscopy and Otoendoscopy, videostroboscopy, Microscopy and Audiological services

ii). What are they aimed at? Diagnosis, Documentation and treatment of various disorders related to Ear Nose Throat and Head Neck. Early Detection of neonatal deafness and hearing thresholds, Early detection and Management of head neck cancer Patients

iii). Photographs of the instruments during the procedure

Ear Surgeries(Microscopic and endoscopic) including Myringotomy, tympanoplasty, myringoplasty, ossiculoplasty, mastoidectomy, Stapes surgery, Endolymphatic decompression, Cochlear implants

Nasal surgeries including Septoplasty, SMR, Turbinectomies, Dacryocystorhinostomy Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgeries, Adenoidectomy(Microdebrider assisted and coablation), Orbital &Optic nerve decompression

Throat Surgeries including Tonsillectomies, tongue tie release,

Laryngeal Proceduresincluding microlaryngeal surgeries

Head Neck Cancer Suringgeries

Paediatric upper airway surgeries including congenital deformities

Laser surgical procedures

Skull base Surgeries including trans sphenoidal pituitary surgeries, CSF Rhinorhea

Research in the department: Department is involved in recent advances and research in field of otology, Rhinology, laryngology and head neck cancers through research projects which will open new opportunities for learning for students and enhance the patient care.

Academics and teaching:

We plan to have a very comprehensive schedule for training undergraduate students and residents in the field of ENT- Head and Neck surgery. The training will include theoretical teaching with main thrust on bedside clinical and surgical training. Besides, there will be a healthy academic atmosphere for free discussion on clinical cases among faculty and residents .Emphasis will be on interactive learning for students
