Academic Cells
In order to ensure effective coordination, monitoring, and smooth conduct of all academic activities, the following Academic Cells have been constituted under the administrative control of Dean Academics.

Roles and Responsibilities of Undergraduate Cell
The Undergraduate Cell shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the MBBS curriculum in accordance with the academic patterns, curriculum structures, and evaluation guidelines adopted from AIIMS New Delhi, and approved by the Standing Academic Committee (SAC), AIIMS Bathinda. The core mandates of the Cell include, but are not limited to:
Admissions & Joining: Coordination of UG NEET counselling, seat allocation, document verification and Hostel allotment in coordination with Registrar office and Hostel committee, conducting Orientation program for newly admitted MBBS batch.
Curriculum Coordination: Implementing and monitoring the undergraduate teaching schedules, integrated lectures, seminars, and clinical postings.
Attendance Monitoring: Maintenance, verification, and periodic publication of monthly student attendance records across all phases of the MBBS course.
Examination Scheduling: Planning and smooth execution of internal assessments, professional examinations, formative evaluations, and timely declaration of results.
Internship Program: Planning and implementation of internship program including developing the Internship logbook and issuing of internship completion (Registrar, AIIMS Bathinda)
Student Welfare & Mentorship: Overseeing the student mentorship programs, addressing academic grievances, and coordinating with the hostel/wellness committees to ensure student well-being.
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification, Student exchange program, Student Clubs, and UG student events like INFUSE, AROHA
Regulatory Compliance: Preparing documentation, feedback reports, and data compilation required for academic audits.
Any other assignments given to the cell pertaining to the course from time to time.
The committee shall meet at least once every quarter or as required to review academic progress and address immediate concerns. The Coordinator/ Member Secretary shall maintain minutes of all meetings and submit the compliance/progress reports to the Dean Academic.
Post Graduate Cell

Roles and Responsibilities of Postgraduate Cell
The Postgraduate cell shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the postgraduate curricula in accordance with the academic patterns, residency structures, and evaluation guidelines adopted from AIIMS New Delhi, and approved by the Standing Academic Committee (SAC), AIIMS Bathinda. The core mandates of the Cell include, but are not limited to:
Admissions & Joining: Coordination of INI-CET counseling, seat verification, medical examination, hostel allotment (in coordination with Registrar office and Hostel committee) and orientation programs for newly joined Residents
Academic Monitoring: Implementing and monitoring departmental teaching schedules, rotational inter departmental clinical postings, journal clubs and seminars, Clinical Grand Rounds and clinicopathological conferences (CPC) coordinated by CMET, research methodology workshops through Research cell
Thesis & Research Tracking: Facilitating the submission, ethical clearance tracking, review, and timely protocol approval of MD/MS/MDS/DM/MCh (6 years) theses in coordination with Research Cell and Examination section
Logbook Maintenance: Standardizing and periodically auditing physical/digital logbooks of residents to ensure competency milestones are met.
Formative Assessment: Managing half-yearly progress reports, internal assessments (both theory and Practical).
Resident Welfare: Monitoring PG resident attendance, duty hours, leave, academic progress, and redressal of academic/training grievances.
Regulatory & Administrative Liaison: Preparing data for academic audits, residency extensions, or modifications in rotation rosters.
Any other assignments given to the cell pertaining to the postgraduate courses from time to time.

Roles and Responsibilities of Ph.D Cell
The Ph.D Cell shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the Ph.D curricula in accordance with the academic patterns, and evaluation guidelines adopted from AIIMS New Delhi and other INI that are approved by the Standing Academic Committee (SAC), AIIMS Bathinda. The core mandates of the Cell include, but are not limited to:
Policy & Regulations: Formulation and periodic revision of Ph.D. ordinances, guidelines, and SOPs in consonance with UGC/NMC norms.
Admissions: Coordination of Ph.D. entrance examination, eligibility screening, departmental interviews, counselling, document verification, and enrollment in consultation with Academic Section and respective departments.
Doctoral Committee Coordination: Overseeing the timely constitution of individual Doctoral Committees for each registered scholar and ensuring mandatory half-yearly progress presentations.
Coursework Management: Designing, implementing, and evaluating the mandatory PhD coursework, including modules on Research Methodology, Biostatistics, and Research Ethics.
Thesis Tracking & Evaluation: Managing the process of logbook verification, pre-PhD seminar presentations, thesis submission timelines, and the coordination of external/national/international examiners.
Fellowship & Grant Tracking: Monitoring the distribution of institutional/extramural fellowships (e.g., ICMR, CSIR, UGC) and ensuring compliance with funding agency frameworks.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring adherence to research ethics, plagiarism policy, publication norms, and timely redressal of scholar grievances.
Data Management: Maintaining a centralized database of Ph.D. scholars, guides, research areas, publications, and outcomes for reporting and accreditation purposes.
Coordination: Liaising with Departments, Dean Academics, Research Section, Ethics Committee, and external agencies for smooth conduct of the Ph.D. program.
Any other assignments given to the cell pertaining to the PhD program from time to time.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Fellowship Cell
The Fellowship Cell shall be responsible for ensuring high standards of sub-specialty clinical training in accordance with the fellowship academic structures adopted from AIIMS New Delhi and approved by the Standing Academic Committee (SAC), AIIMS Bathinda. The core mandates of the Cell include, but are not limited to:
Program Inception & Approval: Assess requirement of faculty, infrastructure, and clinical material for Fellowship Programs and recommend accordingly. Assisting clinical departments in drafting curriculum proposals, eligibility criteria, and operational frameworks for new fellowship programs prior to SAC review.
Admissions & Onboarding: Coordinating seat advertisements, entrance evaluations/interviews, credential verification, and joining protocols for incoming fellows.
Curriculum Implementation: Monitoring advanced clinical postings, hands-on surgical/laboratory training, and inter-departmental academic schedules specific to sub-specialties. Liaise with Academic Section, respective departments, and regulatory bodies for smooth implementation.
Logbook & Portfolio Auditing: Periodically reviewing advanced skill portfolios, case logs, and research publications required for the successful completion of the fellowship.
Exit Evaluations: Organizing final clinical and viva-voce examinations, managing external examiner panels, and processing fellowship completion certifications.
Certification: Recommend candidates for award of Fellowship certificate after satisfactory completion of course requirements.
Grievance Redressal: Address academic and administrative issues of Fellowship candidates.
Any other assignments given to the cell pertaining to advanced fellowship courses from time to time.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Allied Health Sciences (AHS) Cell
The Allied Health Sciences Cell shall be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the undergraduate paramedical curricula in accordance with the academic structures adopted from AIIMS New Delhi, national paramedical council frameworks, and approved by the Standing Academic Committee (SAC), AIIMS Bathinda. The core mandates of the Cell include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum & Academics: Frame, review, and update syllabus, teaching schedules, and training modules for all Paramedical Courses.
New Courses: Evaluate proposals and recommend starting of new Paramedical/Allied Health Science Courses based on institutional and healthcare needs.
Admissions & Examinations: Assist in admission process, orientations for technical batches, internal assessments, and conduct of examinations for Paramedical Courses.
Clinical Training: Plan, coordinate, and monitor clinical postings, skill lab training, and internship programs for Paramedical students.
Attendance & Eligibility Tracking: Reviewing and compiling course-wise student attendance data monthly to ensure candidates meet mandatory percentages before the professional exam.
Infrastructure & Resources: Assess and recommend requirements for classrooms, laboratories, equipment, and teaching aids.
Faculty Development: Organize training, workshops, and CME for teaching faculty involved in Paramedical Courses.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to guidelines of regulatory bodies and AIIMS for all Paramedical Programs.
Quality Monitoring: Conduct periodic audits of academic and clinical training to maintain standards.
Student Affairs: Address academic issues, attendance, discipline, and grievances of Paramedical students.
Coordination: Liaise with Academic Section, clinical departments, and external agencies for smooth conduct of courses.
Certification: Recommend eligible candidates for award of diploma/degree/certificates after successful completion.
